4inkjets Commitment To The Environment
Aside from being the leading provider of ink and toner cartridges, at 4inkjets, we strive to provide the highest quality of merchandise while minimizing our environmental footprint. As a company, we are committed to doing business that reflects our commitment to environmental responsibility. At 4inkjets, our efforts to protect our world go above and beyond selling remanufactured cartridges; it is a way of life. From our eco-friendly headquarters, encouraging carpooling and biking, and customer events that promote being “green”, we are constantly finding new ways to conserve our resources and limit the negative effects that our business could have on the planet.
Here Are The Facts
When you purchase a recycled cartridge, you are helping to reduce the number of cartridges that end up in landfills. Today, the number of plastic cartridges that end up in landfills each year is over 300 million. That means that millions of pounds of plastic and metal, the two non-renewable materials from which these ink and toner cartridges are made, are being needlessly wasted. Ink cartridges are not biodegradable and they contain materials and chemicals that can be harmful to the environment. As a result of throwing them away, these harmful chemicals can end up poisoning our soil.
We know that over 13 cartridges are discarded in the US every second and around 2 ounces of oil are used in the production of inkjet cartridges. Around 90% of cartridges are recyclable but only around 20% are actually recycled.
What Does This Mean?
Simply put, too many recyclable cartridges are ending up in our landfills. When this happens, not only are we adding to the millions of cartridges already in our landfills but we are wasting non-renewable sources in the production of new ink and toner cartridges.
We cannot stop printing, but we can handle our used cartridges in a much better way.
What's The Solution?
The obvious solution would be to recycle your ink and toner cartridges, but how we choose to recycle these cartridges is a different story. At 4inkjets, we take once-used ink and toner cartridges, clean and repair them, then refill and vigorously test them to ensure that they perform with the same dependability that you have come to expect from our products.
We also know that being reused as ink cartridges isn’t the only way to reuse the materials that make up your used products. We encourage all of our customers to recycle their used ink cartridges with our partner, Green Hippo, who provides a resource for schools, community groups, families, and individuals with bulk quantities of cartridges to earn money recycling their used cartridges. Another option for recycling would be recycling centers in your local community. No matter what method you choose, 4inkjets is proud to join with our customers in being responsible with our resources.
