What ink does Epson WF-2540 use?
The Epson WorkForce WF-2540 printer uses Epson 200 / 200XL DURABrite Ultra ink cartridges. The Epson 200 ink series come in 4 colors: black, cyan, magenta, and yellow. Compatible Epson 200/200XL ink replacements are proven to fit Epson printers and perform just like Epson DURABrite cartridges. All four color cartridges are required for your WorkForce WF-2540 to work.
How much more ink does the XL have versus the standard?
A black high yield Epson 200XL ink cartridge contains more ink and can print 500 pages. In comparison, a standard black Epson 200 cartridge can only print 175 pages. Most consumers have said that Epson printers consume ink fast so the best way to save money (without trashing your printer) is by using off-brand compatible Epson 200/200XL ink.
How do I change the ink in my Epson WF 2540 printer?
- First, make sure to power on your printer.
- Lift up the scanner unit.
- Squeeze the cartridge tab and carefully pull it straight up. Set aside empty cartridge for recycling.
- Gently shake the new Epson WF-2540 ink cartridge before removing the packaging.
- Remove packaging of new cartridge. Remove yellow tape from side of the ink cartridge. Make sure not to touch the gold contacts or the ink nozzles when handling the new ink cartridge.
- Insert new cartridge into the slot. Check that the cartridge is oriented correctly and the same as the other installed cartridges.
- Push down gently until it clicks into place.
- Lower scanner unit.
- If installing an off-brand compatible Epson WF-2540 ink cartridge, turn off automatic firmware updates for optimal performance.
