HP 8610 ink cartridges come in standard and high yield XL sizes. High yield ink cartridges contain more ink and can print more pages making them a more economical option. Both HP 950 and HP 951 ink cartridges are available in high yield sizes.

  1. In your computer, go to Printers, select the HP OfficeJet Pro 8610 and right click.
  2. Select the option that says Properties or Options from the dropdown. You can also get to this menu by clicking on the Printer icon from whatever application you're in, and right clicking on the HP 8610.
  3. From the Printer Properties dialog box, click on the Features tab.
  4. Click on the Grayscale drop-down menu and then select Black Ink Only.
  5. Click OK.

Where is the ink cartridge located on a HP OfficeJet Pro 8610?

The ink cartridges can be accessed by opening the front cover of the HP OfficeJet Pro 8610. You can do this by looking for the slot on the left towards the front of the printer. Pull forward on this slot to open the front cover. Doing this will expose the ink cartridge tray.
 

How do I change the ink in my HP OfficeJet Pro 8610?

  1. Make sure your printer is powered on.
  2. Pull open the printer front cover.
  3. Wait for the cartridge carrier to stop before touching.
  4. Once the cartridges stop, gently push forward on the cartridge you wish to replace to release it. Carefully pull out the cartridge.
  5. Remove packaging from new cartridge.
  6. Slide the new ink cartridge into the empty slot. There are color guides under the cartridges, make sure the new cartridge matches the guide and is installed in the right slot.
  7. Push forward to click the cartridge into place.
  8. Once that's done, close the front cover of the printer.
  9. Give the printer a few minutes to prep your new cartridge and you should be ready to print.
